This program works best using Proxy Firewall in single proxy mode with NO auto rotate options.

SOCKS5 Proxy Settings For mIRC
Proxy Server addresses and ports used for our socks5 proxies, can be found in our members login area. The port to use for each server will be listed on the same line as the server ip address. If you experience any problems while using these instructions, check your configuration and be sure that you are using the correct user name and password. Also be sure that there is not a space before or after the ip address, user name or password. If there are left over spaces from a copy and paste, the server will not work. If you have checked everything, try another proxy server from a different area of our list. Rather then trying another proxy server or machine, first try another network. IP addresses starting with 38.96.x are from one upstream provider and ip addresses starting with 66.38.x are from another. It is not likely that both routes would be down at the same time. Though we rarely experience problems, here is a partial map of upstream providers that will help you in choosing different ip's if you are experiencing problems.

Upstream #1 38.96.x (cogent usa)
Upstream #2 66.38.x (bell canada)
Upstream #3 65.91.x (broadwing usa)
Upstream #4
64.46.x (bigpipe canada)

You do not need to be a rocket scientist to use a proxy. If you have tried a couple different networks and are still having problems, contact our technical support department. There may be something wrong with your account.

Email support is provided 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Setting Up mIRC For The Proxy

Step #1

First you will need a proxy server account

There are two different types of proxy accounts that work with these configurations in mIRC. You can choose from USA only proxy servers or USA + Off shore access. At this time, the USA option gives you access to over 300 broadband proxy servers and the off shore gives you access to over 600 total proxies. (since we are growing, please click on the links above to view current server numbers)

STOP HERE BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
THIS PROGRAM WORKS BEST THROUGH Proxy Firewall
There is no need to continue if you download Proxy Firewall. Proxy Firewall is an automatic proxy selector that will simply and easily manage proxy connections for you. Proxy Firewall does all of the work. There will be no need for you to configure your Internet programs to use a proxy, just answer Proxy Firewall's questions when asked.

Step #2

Select which proxy you would like to use

Before we get started you will need to select which proxy server from our list that you would like to use. All that you will need to start is to go to the members area and bring up the socks5 proxy list. Each proxy server has an IP address and socks port listed next to it. There are different types of names to choose from, such as: DNS Spoofed (example: billy.microsoft.com), Vanity (example: bet.u.cant.find.me.cause.im.on.my. proxymachine.com) and normal looking ISP (example: anderson.city.park.united-wireless.net) It does not matter which you choose, it is the users personal preference on how they want to show up on the net.

Note: Some irc servers require IDENT to show the domain name. If you use proxy firewall, proxy servers with ident enabled are marked for your convience.

Write down the IP and port for the proxy that you would like to start with.

Example: IP: 66.38.243.129 Port:1095

Step #3

Start up mIRC

Configure mIRC to use the proxy server by opening your the program.
(different versions of mIRC may vary depending on newer/older options and versions)
Click on Tools and select "Options" as shown below.

Step #4

Click on Connect and then check your information.
With many IRC servers, the email name that you select in this window will control what user name that you are showing up as when users are using whois on you. In this case irctest9878@anything.com will display "irctest9878" as the login name on some IRC servers. Other servers will take the name from the IDENT configuration, while others may display your proxy user name that you selected when you signed up with our service. You may need to try different servers to get your desired result.

Step #5

Click the Local Info option.
Place a check in Local Host and make sure that the radio button has the Server option selected as shown below. If you are having any problems you can come back to this window and change the settings, but if they do not fix your problem be sure to come back and change the settings back to those shown in this help section. Take out any local host or ip address information that may already be in those areas. This information should be filled in automatically when you connect. Old settings can cause problems.

NOTE: If you are trying different settings you may find that you need to close and then restart mIRC between your changes to get true results.

Step #6

Click on the Firewall option

Step #7

Select Firewall support [ Both ] for DCC file transfer
Select Protocol Socks5
Type in the proxy ip address in the Hostname area that you wrote down from the socks5 list in step # 2
.

Enter your proxy user name for our service
Enter your proxy password
Type in the proxy Port that you wrote down from the socks5 list in step # 2.

Now you are done. Click on the OK button until you are back to the main mIRC window and connect to a server.

For your information in this test, this is how the window was auto filled in from step # 5
